3 ways to read your client's mind before you even meet her.

Ever wonder how to get inside your coaching client’s mind? Here are 3 foolproof ways to know exactly what they want when you’re looking for ideas to create content or new offers for your health & wellness coaching business.

Today I’m breaking down how to "get to know" your clients- even if you haven't had one yet. YUP, you heard me right.

Listen, I know it’s hella frustrating reading all the advice about polling your audience or interviewing previous clients. But what if you’re just starting out? Or have a teeny tiny audience. Girl, I’ve got ya. Because the info is out there, you just have to be a little creative about how you find it.

I want your clients to be thinking "Holy shit. She just saw right inside my brain." when they encounter your offerings. So let’s get to it.

one: Amazon book reviews

The amazon best seller list is a gold mine. Once you get to the list, you can navigate through the categories on the left to find titles related to your niche. And then read through those reviews to see what people found helpful.

I actually find the 1 and 2-star reviews to be even more helpful because these are the people who were looking for a solution but didn't find it. Maybe you have a different spin on things (or could create one) that speaks directly to this frustration.

The titles themselves are also great inspiration for creating content because they show the kind of topics that are trending in your niche.

two: Forums, Reddit, Quora and online groups

These are places where people are gathering who specifically need your help. Start documenting how they voice their frustrations, desires, and wins, and speak to them in the same type of language when creating your own content. As a bonus, you can jump in and offer valuable insights, inspiration, and tips right in the group to get the ball rolling + start getting recognized for the value you offer.

Three: Interviews and mini-focus groups

Use the groups from above, your current social media followers, email list, etc to identify a few people you'd love to work with or think would be a good fit for your services. Reach out and ask if they'd like to participate in a small zoom workshop (3-5 people) where you ask the participants a few questions about struggles relating to your niche, solutions they’re looking for but can’t find, or areas in their life relating to your coaching where they continually find themselves stuck. After the mini-focus group, you could even reach out to 1 or 2 participants to go deeper and ask them further questions in a 1:1 interview.

Now let me know- have you tried any of these tactics? If not, which one gets you the most excited? Take that one, and test it out this week, and then let me know how it goes in the comments!
