Pretend you're a design & photography pro with these mobile editing apps

Today is going to be a real short post. But sometimes shorter can be better, no?

I’m a firm believer that anybody can have beautiful graphics and photos for their business (at any cost!) with the tools available now. This list is always changing as apps update and new ones get released but as of right now, these are some of the best apps you can use to fake like you have a professional designer and photographer behind the scenes for your brand. (And honestly, some of these are so easy to use, that I prefer them to the expensive editing and design desktop programs I have access to!)

You don’t need expensive software anymore to create your own graphics and edit beautiful photos. All you need is your phone and these 10 mobile apps to take your branding to another level

Photo Editing

Lightroom Mobile: There is a free and paid version of this app. I use the paid as it comes with my monthly adobe subscription, but the free version will more than meet your needs. Loads of people have presets you can buy and use in lightroom to edit your images super quick, and you can also do your own edits and then save them as your very own preset!

AColor Story: My OG editing app and pretty much the only one I used before lightroom mobile came along. It was created by the gals from A Beautiful Mess. You can check out a previous blog post here where I walk you through how I edit with a color story. Hundreds of presets developed by professional photographers, and they’re all top-notch. The app comes with some presets, but others you will have to purchase to access.

Video Editing

Filmm: This is another app from A Beautiful Mess, and it’s a super simple video editor that lets you trim clips and add really cool color filters and effects to your videos.

In Shot: Full disclosure, I haven’t used this a ton, but I know a lot of people who rave about it for editing videos on the fly.

Premiere Rush: Another adobe mobile app. This is the app equivalent to Premiere Pro. Lets you combine and trim clips, add music, and adjust the colors, brightness, etc. of your videos.

Graphics

Canva: This free software is a must. It’s so easy and intuitive to use

Template: Again, another A Beautiful Mess app. This one is full of templates you can easily pop images and videos into for your Instagram stories, feed or carousel posts.

Over: Extraordinary app for adding graphics to images. Tons of options for templates, and also the ability to start from scratch and make your own unique graphics.

Word Swag: Ever just want to add some cool type or fonts over an image? Then word swag is your friend.

Unfold: Unfold was one of the first stories template apps. I did a little IGTV on using it when it first came out and you can see that here.

Alright! There you have it. Check out some of these apps, play around with them, and let me know what you think. Before long, you’ll figure out which are your favorites and you’ll be killing it with your graphics, videos, and photos.
